Excerpt from Book ‘Who Eye Am” by Akili
i die a daily death
in prison
at the hands of
desperation,
like every
hanger on
who was
NEVER
satisfied with
merely hanging on
dies!
i die a daily death
in prison
the hermit’s death,
the schizo’s death
the finger pointed at
hushed toned
snickered at
“he’s worst of the worst,”
death.
of the conspiracy theorist.
i die a daily death
i die a daily death
in prison
at the hands
of truth,
knowing those
who know
can never turn
back again!
Even while wondering
would it have been
better to never
have
caressed
truth’s smooth
long limbs?
Yet, unwilling
to divorce
SELF
from the death
our union will create.
in prison
the death
of the broken-hearted
parent
sibling
niece
nephew
lover
comrade and friend
watching you subsist
in the happy zombified
bliss of ignorance
knowing i can
NEVER
wake you
you’ll kill me it i try
Yet, still
i accept
i must
die.
