2020 ends in crashes,
wave after wave of salted distain
breaks upon the shore of dawn’s crimson eyes.
Stained with stingy reflections of
shoulda, coulda, woulda, why did I’s,
A tsunami of regret shattering hopes beautiful
coke bottle shaped body of glass spilling forth.
Steadied in my surrender
perched upon realities bouy.
A steadfast seagull, or perhaps a pelican embracing
life’s ebb and flow. Wave after Wave.
2021 begins upon the ocean’s break
an impregnated stork delivering new life in the
afterbirth of having to go thru it to get to it.
And, so shall it be this King’ decree.
